  1. PlayStation Vue, Sony’s over-the-top streaming TV service, is now accessible via Android TV and is coming to additional platforms in the near future.

Those with a set-top box or television set powered by Google’s Android TV platform running Android OS 4.4 or higher can download and install the PlayStation Vue streaming app to get up and running right away (assuming you already have a PlayStation Vue subscription).

Dan Myers, Head of Product, PlayStation Vue, announced the news in a recent post on the official PlayStation blog.

Myers also revealed that web support for PC and Mac is coming “soon,” adding that you can sign up for PlayStation Vue on the web without a PlayStation game console. Android TV joins a host of other platforms including the PS3 and PS4, Roku, Chromecast and Fire TV as being compatible with PlayStation Vue.

Those new to the service can sign up for a seven-day free trial with multiple plans to choose from:

    • Access: 55+ channels, including live cable TV, movies, and sports channels for $29.99 per month ($39.99 in cities with major live local broadcast stations).
    • Core: 70+ channels, including all the channels from Access with the addition of live national and regional sports networks for $34.99 per month ($44.99 in cities with major live local broadcast stations).
    • Elite: 100+ channels, featuring all the channels from Core with the addition of top movie and entertainment channels for $44.99 per month ($54.99 in cities with major live local broadcast stations).
    • Ultra: HBO and SHOWTIME, plus all the 100+ channels from Elite for $64.99 per month ($74.99 per month in cities with major live local broadcast stations).

Vue's been pretty great for my folks. Cable channels for less, and no contracts.

PC support is all that is missing right now, love Vue and love the extra money I have each month now.
