I followed the instructions of the preliminary malware removal sticky.

AVG Antiroot wouldn't open for some reason--I installed it twice.

HJT gives me a prompt when I scan that reads:
"For some reason your system denied write access to the host file. If any hijacked domains are in this file HJT may NOT be able to fix this."

Have HijackThis fix these entries:
R3 - URLSearchHook: Yahoo! Toolbar - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)
O2 - BHO: (no name) - {7E853D72-626A-48EC-A868-BA8D5E23E045} - (no file)

Apart from that, your logs are clean.

Even though I've "fixed" this entry it consistently appears when I scan with HJT.

That's not a big problem. You can leave it as it is, in any case your logs are clean.
