  1. So I am in the military my computer is my nice me time. I went home to see family for christmas I come back and when I turn computer on it says,

Windows could not start because of the following file is missing or corrupt:
    WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM

So I have my OS disk I put it in, my BIOS is set correctly, when it gets to screen saying boot from CD, press any key to boot from CD, No matter how fast or if I press keys all the way from boot to this point, press every key, it will not boot from cd.

Disk Drive works it did right before I left, Keyboards ( I used 2 different ones) work cause I can get to Bios.

Please someone assist this is really starting to ruin my holidays, thank you.

Well unfortunately that requires me to be able to access my Xp disc once inserted and as I described in first post I can not do that.

Replace the optical drive or try to boot from an external CD/DVD USB drive
