Hi... i have had this computer for so long
and have tried to figure out whats wrong but i just dont get it

This computer keeps freezing just locks up with no reason
Freezes in some games like Doom 3 or when loading windows XP
installing if i am not fast enough to select options

also freezes during memory tests like memtest86 and
even prime95

the system runs at 55celsius
but i dont think its a temp problem since it freezes
when everything is disconected and just installing windows
xp or running a memory test

MotherBoard D850EMV2
CPU : Intel 850I Pentium 4
RAM : 512MB PC800-40 RDRAM
also tried 512MB PC-800-45 RDRAM
and problem still persists

any ideas
and by the way i also swaped out
the PSU with another 350W

thanks

whats your graphics card? your PSU might not have enough power for it...

mine used to freeze through-out games, and sometimes at the load up screen... it still does on occasion... but the freezing in games was down to my graphics card over heating...

try taking off the side panel of your pc, then blowing a house fan on it... whilst you play Doom etc.

It sounds like you have a memory problem. That board is specific about what RAM sticks are installed, how many are installed, and what slots they are installed in. Please specify your RAM configuration (the board has 4 slots labeled RIMM1,2,3, and 4, specify what RAM sticks are installed (make and model#) and specify what slots you have them installed in.

Also, are you getting a BSOD (blue error screen) when it freezes?? and if so, what does it say??
