Your download might have been corrupted. Check the FAQs from the support section of the download website on what procedures to follow for re-downloading.

I recently downloaded and installed The Sims 3. But when I launch it, it gives me a full black screen, and then it brings me back to the desktop...Help? I have a Windows XP:

    ----System info: 2.2GHz, 1024MB RAM, DirectX--9.0
    ----Device: ATI 9600 SERIES
    Memory: 128.0 MB
And the requirements for sims 3 are:

    -PC:Windows XP SP2-------------------?? what does SP2 mean?
-CPU: 2.0 GHz P4 processor-----------??what does the P4 have to do with it?
    -RAM: 1 GB RAM
-Hard Drive: 6.1 GB+1GB for storage
    -Video:DirectX 9.0

I know this is a long post and complicated to respond to, but you smart people out there, please help me!!!
