Please Help = No wired network capabilities since upgrade to XP from vista

I have an Acer Aspire 3690 which came with vista. It had a problem with
the print spooler never working, so I upgraded to XP. Most of the drivers
I had were for Vista, and don't work for XP, so the backups I did were
largely unusable. Everything is working fine now, including my wireless
network, but I can't get any sort of connection at all, nor even a
recognition that I have a network card in the machine now.

Acer won't help me since it has a non-oem os, but they did send me this
information about likely adapters in this machine - it's one of these 4:

3Com Etherlink III 3C589D
IBM EtherJet CardBus Adapter 10/100
Intel Ether Express Pro/100 Mobile Adapter MBLA3200
Xircom CardBus Ethernet 10/10 32 Bit CBE-10/100TX

I've downloaded all the drivers for these - none seem to work.

At the moment, I have Broadcom control suite which makes my wireless
work, and shows up in certain places as the network controller, but I can't
add a network connection as it won't show up there.

What kind of information from which sources would be helpful so that I can
resolve this?

Thanks!

Lee

u could purchase a new net work card and the drivers would come with it on a disk, be sure to turn off the on board in the BIOS tho.
