I followed 8 steps and would appreciate some help reviewing my logs. Before running the programs IE and Firefox would automatically shutdown upon opening. I can now access the internet, but I still cannot access google.com. Whenever I attempt to go to google I end up at Royalsearch. Please help.

We do not send users to do automatic reading of the HijackThis log. That's our job!

Jawshh please refrain for doing this.

Techspot has set up a series of steps to be followed in malware cleaning. We ask that all users follow that first. It is found HERE

We are temporarily short of malware helpers at this time however. The system is badly infected with malware. You did not check for Malwarebytes to remove what it found. I strongly encourage you to get malware cleaning help HERE- Now.

In addition to the malware, you have several areas of potential increased vulnerabilities.

    Update

After completing the Hijackthis scan my computer worked again. Thanks for the 8 steps, it really improved my computer. Right now I use AVG for antivirus but don't have a firewall. Are there any you recommend that won't slow down my computer too much?

I suggest you follow up on this.

Additionally, you are not rid of all the malware.

ok sorry for the HJT I wasnt aware. :(

rmrogers19, you can use windows firewall, it is the least troublesome firewall i have ever seen and it is effective as long as you don't open many ports or create too many exceptions. But, if you want third party firewall, then use ZoneAlarm or Comodo.

    ZoneAlarn>> http://download.zonealarm.com/bin/free/1025_update/zaSetup_en.exe
    Comodo>> http://www.comodo.com/home/download/download.php?prod=firewall

And like bobbye said, you are not rid of all malware. Try using kaspersky online scan

    Online Scan>>>> http://www.kaspersky.com/virusscanner

You should scan your system at least once a week. A manual scan is better than an automatic scan sometimes.

P.S It is very important that you use firewall.
