    As Bobbye suggests "Ad-Block Plus" is most like the thing you'd like to have-slash- program.

    "No-Script" will block pop ups also, with one provision. If you OK a script for the site you're visiting, you will be also allowing that sites flash objects to start.

    With "No Script", "Vibrance" rollover ads are gone, and a few others the names of which escape me at the moment.
