Possibly Purchasing New Graphcs Card - Questions Help

Hi,

I am thinking about buying a new graphics card, probably likely to be the GeForce 8800GTS 512 G92. (MSI OC or BFG OC2)

I currently have a Gigabyte GeForce 7950GX2 (1GB). First question, I think I already know the answer, The 8800GTS (G92) would kick a 7950GX2's *** wouldn't it?

Second question, I currently have a Gigabyte GA-965P-DQ6 Rev 1 Motherboard. Would I gain any performance by buying a X38 motherboard which has PCI Express 2.0 support if I was to buy the 8800GTS (G92)?

Third Question, my current power supply is a Thermaltake PurePower 500W (TT-W0057). Is this likely to have any issues running a 8800GTS?

Other system specs:-

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 (2.66)
2 GB Corsair Ram (800)

Thanks

Jamie

1. Yes, you know the answer already.
2. I doubt a new motherboard would give you a significant performance boost.
3. Your power supply should be enough for the new card.

I would just get the new card and play it. It should run your games great.
