Pregnant teen charged with manslaughter after fatally shooting boyfriend during YouTube...

Can't believe how many are laughing at this, insensitive pricks, it's a ducking tragedy and everyone laughing at it.

This is why you do a trial run before trying the real thing. "Um, Pedro, let's try it on another book first and see what happens. Surely we can afford one book and one bullet. Then it's on to internet stardom!!"

Two morons+gun=tragic consequences... All those people there and none of them had enough common sense to put a stop to it... Their poor child and the unborn need to be removed from their immediate family and raised by someone with more than two brain cells to rub together.

Tragic, but unless something that occurred that is not mentioned here I really don't see the need for punishment. Perhaps what they call in Canada a "Conditional Discharge"

absolutely it was an accident. crime is only when someone kills someone intentionally. as victim was also forcing her to do so! and she didn't had any wrong intention. all the case is lack of knowledge! and I don't think it is supposed to be a crime. there will be no use of sending her to correctional facility.

correctional facility as name suggest it must be a facility where criminal realize their mistake and correct their mind. but unfortunately jails seems to further pushes the criminal toward crimes.

I do feel sorry for the guy. It sounds as though he wasn't too bright, so for him he felt that his only shot at success was YouTube. Can't really blame a person for being dumb, if those are the physical limits of their brain. In that sense I feel sorry.

One more point, people are getting dumber through evolution. Weaker, and dumber. That's the effect of modern technology. Though this guy was only 22, he already produced two kids (plus another one on the way). Watch this video

Though it's part comedy, it's extremely accurate. Think also about the point, contrast of those people who plan out when to have kids based on their current circumstances, and those who do not.

Pretty shocked that with 30 other people there that apparently no one thought of trying to stop it.

LOL .... guess she didn't bother to look up what the penetrating power of a .50 cal is. .22 is a sure thing up to a .223, .9mm, .45 but .308 and higher will go the distance. .50 cal .... maybe if he stood behind the encyclopedia britannica shooting through each volume, closely packed ...... guess she didn't read that far! LOL
It's a .50 AE, not a .50 BMG.

The distinction...is fairly important:

Insensitive? This guy was so dim that he had his girlfriend shoot him with a DE thinking a book was going to shield him.

Sensitivity is for people who find themselves in bad situations for no fault of their own. This guy literally stood in front of a loaded gun, encyclopedia in hand, and said, "Fire!"

That isn't deserving of sympathy. It's deserving of mocking and ridicule.

Think abnout it. This guy was so careless with his own life for the sake of views that he was willing to accept mortal risk. What outlandish prank would have been next had this not failed miserably? What public stunts would he pull with equal care to other people's health and safty in mind?

The only tradegy here is that a couple of kids will have to grow up without their parents. As for the parents...someone should attach a "Legendary Fail" sticker to the dude's grave.

It's pretty hard to feel any kind of sensitivity regarding such stupidity.

Lets face it both Muppet's should never have been allowed anywhere near a firearm given the belligerent disregard for safety.

They should have paid more attention in Physics class and all this could have been avoided really. ;)

Well, I'm willing to play devil's advocate here. Perhaps in school if she were treated as if she was anything other than a baby machine, should would have taken an interest in chemistry, physics, and mathematics. STEM is something for everyone.

My wife has a STEM background and talking quantum mechanics and higher mathematics with her is awesome. :)

If she had an IQ high enough to be a successful STEM student she wouldn't have been a baby machine.

I absolutely agree with you. The woman will never, ever do this again, unless she is completely mentally incompetent; but, that is the law in the US. Remember, the current motto is "Law and Order."

What is it with Americans and their fascination with guns? And a Desert Eagle to boot... Although it's a tragic story, it's also just rank stupidity on both parties behalf. Lives changed and ruined irreparably just because of it.
As an American that does not own guns nor wants one, I see the "fascination" as stemming from our Constitution's Second Amendment rights. Some of the more questionable gun owners, at least as I see them, seem to think that they need to have guns to protect themselves against being controlled by an onerous government. However, I have to ask is that clear thinking when virtually every police force in America has a SWAT team, and if worse came to worse such as an attempt by the more questionable gun owners to overthrow government, the government possesses things like Predator drones, and now this - http://www.popularmechanics.com/military/research/a27103/army-laser-apache-helicopter/

I don't care what kind of hand gun you have, this thing has 33 kW of power (for the less science oriented crowd, read that as 33 kJ - continuously), and some other versions I have read have 58 kW of power. No civilian gun (or encyclopedia) is going to stand up against something like that.

(And don't get on me with the mirror crap. That much power will tear through most mirrors as if the were transparent.)

The shorter explanation is that some people think having a gun empowers them.

I am not at all against guns for hunting and such, but the fringe gun owners in America seem to think having a gun gives them rights. And then there are those Americans who live in constant fear and having a gun, apparently, makes them feel safe.

It's hard to feel sorry for stupid people. Don't get me wrong though, I'm not laughing (not even cracking a smile).
It's just.. where was that thing called common sense?
So, I've flooded this thread with posts, but after this, I quit - I promise. :p Her boyfriend was in search of fame and fortune. I think this says something about the prevalent societal attitudes that amplify what amounts to essentially meaningless garbage. Her boyfriend certainly is not taking any of that fame along with him nor will any human. Until humanity learns to live together and to help each other survive and develops an economic system that encourages and helps develop financial security for all without having to pound the dark matter out of your fellow human being, people will continue to do stupid stuff like this all in the name of fame and fortune.

She may have, but the make factory workers school system probably treated her as if she did not.

She didn't. I've dated high-iq STEM girls. They would never have had kids this young because they are smarter than that, irrespective of the school system.

Proof this chick was dim outside of early motherhood: She took a high-powered handgun and shot it at a man holding a book for protection.

Well, all you bleeding hearts should keep in mind, you'll be paying good tax money to keep the stupid puta in jail. I say this calls for biblical justice.

She should get the single volume book of her choice, and hold it in front of her while the judge in the case fires a
Desert Eagle at her, at point blank range.

An eye for an eye, it's really that simple.

Besides, think how famous she'll be on YouTube after that!
