Primary Slave (none) Windows not starting

My computer restarted itself and would not load anything. It said Primary Slave disk failure or something along those lines. Now it has actually managed to get to the screen with the safe mode options and normal startup options but it goes to the windows load screen and then restarts and leaves me back at square one. When I try to go in on safe mode it doesn't even make it to the windows load screen.

I currently don't have a copy of windows xp, I contacted the place where I bought my computer and they told me they don't give out the windows CD's. I thought this was kind of odd seeing how I paid for windows xp. Is there anything I can do without going and buying a new copy of windows?

You need to test the hard drive. You can either download the diagnostic program from the manufacturer and burn it on a CD and boot from it to run it. Or take it to the local computer store and pay them to do it.

You're hard drive is likely defective.
