Print Screen Only Copies Background Wallpaper?

Whenever I want to make a screenshot of what I have on my screen on my computer, I would click print screen, then open Paint then paste and I would be able to have the image copied.
However it doesn't work. It seems to copy by desktop background wallpaper each time. Previously I had no desktop wallpaper besides the basic one on windows 7. Is there a reason for this?

Try the alternative PrtScrn action. Hold down Alt at the same time as you press PrtScr. This will capture an image of the active window only, which is almost always a more useful thing to do anyway.

If that does not work as it should, you have an odd problem. I would then try downloading and installing one of the umpteen add-on utilities called 'snipping tools' in general.
