Problem Booting Windows XP Home Edition

I'm using a Windows XP from Dell. The boot startup gets stuck in the Dell boot screen (not the Windows boot screen where the green bar goes back and forth). This problem occurred after repairing my computer with the formatting disk. Its not the first time this has happened. My plan was to install Ubuntu from a CD but I can't perform this seeing as I can't even access the place where I change the options to enable booting from a CD (sorry I forgot the name of this) because like I said, it gets stuck.

This is a hard one for me, any help guys?

PS: Props on the excellent forums and site.

    May be faulty Ram

Please run Memtest on your Ram ( ~ 4Hrs)

    Thanks for the feedback

Many users don't even test it when I mention to do this
They just go straight out and update the Ram (usually it requires updating anyway)
