I'm trying to create a bootable Knoppix CD in order to solve an ntfs.sys error (long story) but every time I attempt to start my system from a DVD-RW, I get a message stating "Selected boot device not available."
I've never done this before so I'm looking for advice on where I went wrong. With that in mind these are the steps I took in producing my CD/DVD:
Chose my download site from this Knoppix web page. Chose Purdue's http site. Downloaded Knoppix_V5.1CD-2007-01-04-EN.iso (a 696 mb file). There are md5, md5.asc, sha1, and sha1.asc files as well but I didn't download them. As I have no CD burn programs on my computer I used the Windows XP burn utility already installed and copied the file to a DVD-RW.
I edited my BIOS to boot from CD and attempted to run Knoppix. Then I get the above message.
