Problem creating Knoppix boot disc

I'm trying to create a bootable Knoppix CD in order to solve an ntfs.sys error (long story) but every time I attempt to start my system from a DVD-RW, I get a message stating "Selected boot device not available."

I've never done this before so I'm looking for advice on where I went wrong. With that in mind these are the steps I took in producing my CD/DVD:

Chose my download site from this Knoppix web page. Chose Purdue's http site. Downloaded Knoppix_V5.1CD-2007-01-04-EN.iso (a 696 mb file). There are md5, md5.asc, sha1, and sha1.asc files as well but I didn't download them. As I have no CD burn programs on my computer I used the Windows XP burn utility already installed and copied the file to a DVD-RW.

I edited my BIOS to boot from CD and attempted to run Knoppix. Then I get the above message.

To create a boot disc you cannot copy the files to a cd (copy\burn that is)
You must use an ISO burning program. I posted a free one here: http://www.techspot.com/vb/post653029-21.html
(obviously disregard the Memtest stuff ;) )

Thanks Kimsland. That did the trick.

    Thanks for the update :grinthumb
It would have been a shame if that big download didn't work
