Problem running spore

Status
Not open for further replies.
I just bought spore today and I tried running it, but nothing appears on the screen so I can't install it. The computer had symptoms of infection, like when I go on google and click on the links it always redirects me. Also, youtube videos never load fully. Any suggestions? I really want to play spore. Thx.

Follow the New Preliminary Removal Instructions

If you do come back with the log reports (from following the above removal proceedure link) I normally do not read these myself, hopefully another support person will though.

Anyway from following the proceedure, you may then be ok to go

Good luck :)

Every time I try following one of the download links it never brings me to the page, so I can't download ATF cleaner or anything else.

This is a long shot, but it may work, and it's quick:

Download EndItAll
Extract, then run Setup
Then run the EndItAll application
Then click on the skull heads

Then close EndItAll

Then do the following:
How to use Reset Internet Explorer Settings (RIES

To use RIES in Internet Explorer 7, follow these steps:

1. Click the Tools menu, and then click Internet Options.
2. On the Advanced tab, click Reset.
3. In the Reset Internet Explorer Settings dialog box, click Reset.
4. When Internet Explorer 7 finishes restoring the default settings, click Close, and then click OK two times.
5. Close Internet Explorer 7. The changes take effect the next time that you open Internet Explorer 7.

Note for users who cannot start Internet Explorer 7 for some reason, use RIES from Internet Options in Control Panel.

Then continue over to the New Preliminary Removal Instructions

dxdiag

before i paste this here is what i did yesterday. 1. i called ea tech support and the person i talked to didnt understand the difference between nvidia drivers and the nvidia drivers from hp. anyway the tech had me uninstall spore and my video driver ( after i downloaded the new one from nvidia ( version 175.. I think ) then reboot in safe mode and install the video driver and then spore. needless to say that didnt work. ( i couldnt even install the nvidia driver ( i got an error that said i wasnt using a 32-bit version of windows vista ?? ) ) 2. then i called hp tech support and the tech had me download a vista video codec and a different video driver ( which wasnt even the latest one from hp ) then install both + game again in safe mode. that also didnt work. here is my system specs:

MyWK99 and fatmonster

@ MyWK99, If you are still encountering problems with downloading ATFcleaner, etc., then please make a topic here. If not, please post back and let me know.

@ fatmonster, Your issue sounds quite annoying. It is always a possiblility (or is it?) that you actually have Vista 64 bit installed. If so, try installing the 64 bit drivers, but PLEASE, FCS, Back up all data before doing anything. I don't want you to lose any family pictures or anything because I had a slip up.

BEFORE installing new drivers, make sure you uninstall the old ones first, though.
