Problem with audio controller

  1. Hey, currently my computer's sound isn't working and when I checked the device manager under the sound category, it says that the multimedia audio controller driver is missing. The motherboard is an i845GV. I tried going to the Intel site to find the onboard sound device drivers but i was unable to find them. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me fix this problem? Thanks!

This link is to the download section of your motherboard manufacturer (Octek). There is a list of the different audio chipset manufacturers. Select the correct manufacturer - (post back if you cannot find this). Download the appropriate files.

im not quite sure which ones to download since the sound is the onboard sound from the motherboard. I don't see intel anywhere either.

ok, try from this site . Find the category for your version of windows (ie 98, 2000 or XP) and download the file named INF: Intel 82801DB ICH4 (by clicking the disk to the left)

also try these Integrated Audio: Realtek ALC202A
