Problem with audio controller

  1. Hey, currently my computer's sound isn't working and when I checked the device manager under the sound category, it says that the multimedia audio controller driver is missing. The motherboard is an i845GV. I tried going to the Intel site to find the onboard sound device drivers but i was unable to find them. Does anyone have any suggestions to help me fix this problem? Thanks!

This link http://support.octek.com.au/Downloads/htm/Download_034.htm is to the download section of your motherboard manufacturer (Octek). There is a list of the different audio chipset manufacturers. Select the correct manufacturer - (post back if you cannot find this). Download the appropriate files.

im not quite sure which ones to download since the sound is the onboard sound from the motherboard. I don't see intel anywhere either.

ok, try from this site http://www.intel.com/design/motherbd/pi/pi_drive.htm#XP . Find the category for your version of windows (ie 98, 2000 or XP) and download the file named INF: Intel 82801DB ICH4 (by clicking the disk to the left)

also try these Integrated Audio: Realtek ALC202A
