Problem With Control Pannel

I am facing sever problem with control pannle.I am using Windows 2000 professional OS, On a regular basis i check fort the updates with microsoft site. Recently i noticied all my installed software & updates patches in the contol pannel were missing, Only few software are seen where in for which i check for updates & install them on a regular basis. Only for thses few items the CHANGE /REMOVE bottons in the control pannel are greyed out. I am now not able to unistall these programs. I dont have an entry for these item in registry as well.

Microsoft is no longer supporting Windows 2000 Professional.
Take a look at device manager in Hardware in Systems in the control panel. Note which devices are flagged in yellow or red.
Download new drivers for anything flagged. Disable old drivers.
Suspect you have defective hardware.
