Have an audio file that I want to shorten, so I used Nero's Wave Editor. Now I clicked to save as an MP3, but when I clicked options to specify bit rate etc, it exited the program. I tried saving without specifiying the bit rate, so the modified file played at 80Kbits/second, which is obviously not too great. Any ideas on what to do? Are there other free editors that can edit mp3 files?
with Nero you have to purchase the MP3 plugin to take advantage of the full MP3 editing. the standard MP3 plugin is 15.00 if you download it and buy it. http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#c1040050953600 the MP3 PRo is 19.00 if downloaded and purchsed off the net. http://www.nero.com/en/index.html#c1040051192640
Goldwave is a standalone program that is free and allows you to do many things with your audio file. http://www.goldwave.com/
