Hi, I need some help!! When I go to start my other computer, it goes through everything, then just before windows SHOULD start, it just hangs there with a black screen...i have tried to start in safe mode - it won't let me...i tried to start it with the boot disk in, and again ..nothing!! Any suggestions would be greatly appreiciated!! oh, i have 2 drives on it, if that helps. And i also have access to another computer.

    Thanks in advance!

try booting from your XP CD. Run repair. IF that doesn't work you might have to reset your CMOS. You probably have video driver issues assuming you haven't changed the hardware or attempted something foolish like overclocking.

I did try to use my xp CD but nothing happens, how do I get into the CMOS? The HD is 160G, I really don't want to loose all my stuff on it.
    Thanksss

to reset your CMOS, you have to open the computer, remove the battery (like a watch battery) for a few seconds. More time is not needed.
GROUND YOURSELF and UNPLUG the computer.
