Problems installing Vista Ultimate

  1. Evening all,

After having various problems with my computer, I eventually got round to getting it fixed at my local PC World.

They had to wipe my computer clean of all files and told me to start as if it was a new PC.

So I did that, loaded all the usual software onto my PC, Microsoft Office, Norton 360 and downloaded the Windows Updates.

My PC was running on Vista Home Premium SP1, then I inserted the Vista Ultimate SP1 disk.

It started running through, and a message came up saying there maybe problems with "One-click Fixes" but it would install Ultimate anyway.

After the upgrade process had complete, I had a message saying that the upgrade wasn't successful and my OS would revert back to Home Premium.

The thing which I find confusing is that I had Vista Ultimate installed on the PC before the problems occured.

If anybody has any idea as to why this would happen, please please please let me know.

    Thank you, James
