    Hi!

I just put an old computer together and it woant boot. First it didn't send any signals to the display so i thought it was something wit the BIOS so i removed the battery from the motherboard to reset the BIOS...after thet i got it to start...almost...it say something about bad CMOS settings for the CPU or something...
Now every time I start the computer i have to reset the BIOS and then when the computer has been on tor about 10-15 sec it just jams :/

    any ideas?

I think you should replace the CMOS battery. I think it's dead.

    hmm...nope...didn't work....
how would the computer be if the motherboard wouldn's support the cpu?
  4. DjKraid TechSpot Enthusiast

    the computer says

    Warning! CPU has been changed.
Pleace re-enter CPU settings in the CMOS setup and remember to save before quit.

It's not clear to me. Did you install a different CPU into the motherboard than it originally had? If so, it seems you put one in that's not supported.

yep it's not the original...but i can't find any pages about the motherboard, it's some crappy ACER motherboard

    :/

Do you know the model number of the original Acer PC?
  8. DjKraid TechSpot Enthusiast

    no i don't....and that sucks :/

It would help if you could locate the mobo info. It should be printed somewhere on the board.
