Problems with MSDOS program under Windoes XP

I am running a computer under Windows XP pro. I have been using an MSDOS program (Cadd6) for several years. It ran ok under 95 and 98 (1st Ed). It will run under XP but is unstable. I have installed a second hard drive and formatted it as a FAT 32 drive. I wish to install MSDOS version 6.22 on this second drive and re-install the CADD6 software on it. Will some  please tell me how to proceed?

Welcome to TechSpot

I have a similar setup on my PC. I formatted only a small partition of just under 2GB in FAT, using a W98SE boot-floppy. Format X: /s where X or whatever is your HD-letter. Then I installed my vintage-1986 Cobol compiler on it. To use that, I just boot the PC from that W98SE-floppy, go to the FAT/DOS-drive and run my program. When done, reboot without floppy into Windows. Has been working like that for years. I did not bother copying any DOS-files over, because I don't need any, but you could.
Just don't expect to make a bootable DOS-partition with XP installed.
