Program to check if ram is working ok?

I recently went from-

512mb 1 DIM to 2gig (2x1gig) DDR 333 (PC 2700)

After installation, the computer recognizes the full 2gig, but things seem kinda weird.

Is there a program (freeware if possible) that can check the ram in some way shape or form to see that it is operating properly.
