Proxy server problem

I have 2 computers connected via network adapters. One of them is connected to internet via cable modem which uses USB port. On the computer connected to internet I have a proxy server installed; it supports http, ftp, telnet, socks4, socks 5 and mapped links.
All my programs that use Socks 5 work fine (kazaa, messenger, getright, etc... ) but I can't play Soldier of Fortune on the net although it has an option to connect via socks 5 proxy. What's wrong?

You should remove the proxy server software.

Instead, you should use Network Address Translation.

You can use this technology with the Internet Connection sharing that's built into Windows.

Even then, you will only be able to host a game that others on the internet can join on the machine that is serving the connection.
