PS2 memory card data corrupt HELP

    I have a problem with my PS2 memory card
    I had saved need for speed undercover at 60% completion.
    I went to play it tonight and it said load failed. save game data corrupt.
    Does anyone have any idea why this happened?
    Am i able to get the game data back ?
    I don't really feel like starting over for a 3rd time
