PSU replacement issue

alright guys, I've got a bad PSU and it needs to be tossed. I worked with a couple of guys that were computer savvy but they never took the time to help me out. I really don't know crap about this, but am going to learn piece by piece.
One of these guys handed me a Bestec ATX-300-12-E, and the machine carries a Bestec ATX-250-12-Z. Again, I'm new at this so... My question is, Will it work?

Yes it will work in a pinch, but Bestec is a very poor brand of supply

thank you for answering, It's all I got so it'll have to do for now... I figured Bestec is low quality since it's what came standard in some gateways and HPs, and even that is an assumption on my part .
