Quake 4 Not Running

I had recently installed Quake 4, the install went perfectly fine. When I try playing the game it will seem like it is going to load but doesn't, no error messages or any thing like that. I have updated video card drivers, tried uninstalling/reset/reinstalling/reset (I will try doing that again while waiting for a response to the post). I even tried disabling my Internet security, still nothing. I had also installed Enemy Territory Quake Wars which is running perfectly fine.

Any other suggestions?

Try installing the latest patch. It should include all previous patches and bring the game up to date.
