Quality lost when converting .avi

Well the issue is that im been converting lots of avi movies to dvd files structure.... to burn them to dvd but its seem to me that the quality is notoriously degrades ... i knw i dnyt think it should happen....been dvdrips n all.... i've been using cucusoft avi to vcd dvd mpeg converter pro nd for the Vob structure ive been using cucucsoft mpeg to dvd author... is it just me or it's supposed to be that way??? and why is that? Thank yall for your help im very glad on been a TS member!!

Try a higher quality converter, use higher bitrate, try some filtering if the source isn't good.

You're using full DVD resolution, not VCD / SVCD on DVD, right?

I'm not sure what you mean...
i'm convertin to dvd pal.... here are the stats
the bitrate is variable bitrate max 9800, 25fps framerate PAL/SECAM generic 625/50Hz rate, aspect ratio 0.9157 - 4:3 625 lines (PAL)....maybe that will help...

What other higher-quality converters do you recommend me??
