question about putting a wireless router on cable box

  1. Sorry if this is in the wrong place

    I have a DVR cable box and i wanna know if i can hook up a wireless router or even a wireless network card to my cable box so i can access whatever i have on my DVR wirelessly instead of getting a tv tuner card and running a wire?? please let me know if this is possible

    I'm no expert on that, but it sound like you are talking about 2 entirely different technologies there. I would say its impossible.

    its really not 2 differewnt technologies...a cable box has an operating system and most actually run on windows or linux

    well i have read a few things about it.....plus most cable boxes now a days do have usb ports and i have seen a few that have ethernet ports...so thats why im wondering if anyone knows this is possible

    You would have to have software to be able to operate the wireless adapter connected to the DVR. I know DISH DVR's can download programs to a hand held device using a USB cable
