Questions about CPU/MB FSB

My motherboard's FSB tops out at 1066 Mhz and I was considering upgrading the CPU... I'm looking at the newer Core 2 Duos... E8400 Wolfdale, specifically. But it's FSB is 1333 Mhz... Asus says the newest bios will make the chip compatible... but 1. Will it work? If it does... 2. Are the larger L2 cache and 45 nm enough of an advantage than to get the older 1066 Mhz veriety with less L2 cache and running a bit hotter?? The new chips are quite reasonably priced... Thanks for any input.

If Asus says a BIOS update will make the processor work, it will, but u did not give any mention of the mobo u had so that is as far I will say.

ASUS Commando... sorry. I just assumed that it either will or won't... or that there is or isn't an advantage... :) Thanks for the response.

The new chips are very overclocker-friendly and most easily OC to 3GHz+ without any substantial increase in heat output.
