how good is the nVidia GTX 260 compared to the ATI Radeon HD 4870, this includes the 216 core version of the GTX

well these folks have it at about dead even when they tested with the 8.8 and 8.9 drivers. i suspect that with the 8-12 currently in use ATI might have the edge as there was some major performance gains in the newer games, but see for yourself.

what about the older ones...for all of us that are thinking about upgrading, does it make sense to upgrade to an older card?
  4. red1776 Omnipotent Ruler of the Universe

maybe im not understanding your question, but better performance is better performance, what card are you using now? and what kind of performance do you want?

they're both really good cards. The biggest factor to consider right now imo is if your mobo will support multiple cards, and if they do, is it crossfire or sli. To leave you room for future upgrade card add ons.
