Hi, i currently have 2 x 1GB sticks of ram in my motherboard at the moment and wondered if i could buy a 4GB stick of ram and use it in conjunction with one of my 1GB sticks of ram, is this possible?

What are the specs of your pc? how many ram slots do you have spare?

DDR memory must be used in identical pairs for it to operate in dual channel mode. also if your using a 32 bit operating system only 4GB of memory will ever be used by your system.
