I overclocked my core i7-950 from 3.06ghz to 4.2ghz and I'm not sure if that has caused my problem, but every time I shutdown and restart my computer I have a different amount of RAM, 2,4, or 6 GB. I have a triple set of corsair dominator 2gb by 3 with a timing of 9-9-9-24 it clock speed is 1604mhz with the OC and its rated for 1600. Cpu-z always reads 6gb but the bios and windows does not always agree.

    What gives?

    What motherboard are you using?

    Seems pretty surprising.

Have you considered using one or two memory modules instead just for testing purposes? One of your RAM modules could be borderline while the other two could be fairly overclockable. The fewer variables you can account for, the better.

Of course, you could also raise the latencies again and/or increase the DRAM voltage (up to +0.05v or so).

increased dram voltage by .05 and pulled them out and reintalled them in different spots and it still disappearing

Be sure to disable C1E and EIST in the bios
