Ram Epp

I have corsair dominator ddr2 800 mhz. It has epp at 4-4-4-12, but my motherboard only uses sli epp memory for 1200 mhz. So since the epp cant be enabled, the speeds are 5-5-5-15. Will the ram work i manually change it to 4-4-4-12 at 2.10v. Or will that only work if epp is enabled?

I believe EPP is nothing more than pre-configured profiles that you can choose to use if both your motherboard and RAM support EPP. Sort of like a short-cut to overclocking for inexperienced users.

You should be able to alter the RAM's configuration manually and achieve the same results as long as the RAM supports the configuration you want to run it at.
