RAM With Windows XP Pro

I am wanting to add RAM to My system since I do video editing for a living. I currently have 4 gigs but the mobo I have will accomodate 8 gigs. My question is will XP Pro utilize all 8 gigs of memory if I do add to it? Also will XP Pro allow my video editing software to utilize the added memory? There is no sense in upgrading the RAM if I can't use it.

NO. XP 32 bit is limited to 4 gb and cannot really access above 3gb. If you have a 64 bit version then the answer is yes.
