Real Player downloaded some type of update now won't open

When I try to open it, I get just a very brief flash of the RealPlayer icon, then it goes
away and nothing more happens.

What gives?

Any help much appreciated, I had quite a lot of stuff saved in it I don't want to lose.

Might be something to do with the new mailbox set -up, check to see if your Anti virus is not blocking this device. 'Real Player' just send out something similar to what MSN do if your logged in to Instant Messenger and you receive an Email. You get sent a 'Pop up' and an audible notice (sound effect) of "news from Real Player" almost like a RSS feed although it's automated.
