If you ever have the time (That is ,to be specific not enjoying games on highest settings at decent FPS) can you link me to a video or a website that teaches you how to build a computer? I'm only 11 years old and I dream of one day building a good system. (Gaming system :D) Also, while browsing the eVGA 6800GS reviews, someone said that they're running CS:S at max settings getting over 40FPS when in a heavy gunfight with alot of people (like 12 people in one place shooting)

If i were you, i would try to find a person like a friend to teach you because it is ALOT easier to learn that way rather than on the computer

Oh, I wish I had an old friend who builds computers. Maybe my dad's friend knows. The 6800GS is also SLi enabled. So if you ever think its time for an upgrade, you can just change the power supply to 550W+ and get another of these cards for more speed. Or do
the smarter thing and sell this card and buy a next-generation one. Again, remember to buy a dual-core processor when you have the money (At least a X2 3800+) because you're a gamer and later, alot of games will be multi-threaded so the game will go faster if you have a dual-core than if you have a single core processor with same specs. Well, how about we stop chatting and you start ordering? :unch: Bye, good luck and remember to: Download latest drivers from the websites (ex. nvidia.com) because the websites have the latest drivers with the latest updates. And I recommend running a disk defragment after installing the drivers and CS:S so that your computer will run faster. Delete unnecessary files and run a disk cleanup weekly  Bye (assuming you're gonna order now)

I cant thank you enough, this helped a ton
and i hope you find a person to teach you...
    Bye

Get a legal gurdian to help you.

I had to learn from hands on and i have runned a few comps I know descent amount of puters, but hey i runned a motherboard the other month. So your best bet is to buy a permade oem computer like dell, hp,GateWay etc etc.\

I would Recomend a GateWay since they were made for upgrades and most dells and hps aren't

(BAD WATTER COLLING BLOCK AND MANY OF OTHER PEOPLE HAVE HAD THE SAME PROBLEM WITH THE BIGWATTER BLOCK CRACKING, BUT IT'S FIX NOW WITH THE EXPENSIVE ASLO OF BUYING A NEW MOTHERBOARD.)

Hmm, I think I'll just wait until high school and maybe take computer classes there if there is. Or ask my dad if any of his friends can teach me.

There is really nothing that can compare at that price.

Thank you but no, I made a deal to myself that I'm going to wait for AM2 or Conroe and get the next-generation hardware for my future computer.
  11. Tedster Techspot old timer.....

you can build your own computer for a lot less and with more features than one already made.
