    Its greyed out meaning that i can not use my microphone i had bourt, how can i make it not grey. Im sorta new to recording etc but im trying to get ventrilo up.

    Can you go to the device management and check of all drivers are installed properly. It may be a driver problem. That's my first guess.

    Another one is that there is a piece of software installed that takes over the windows function for recording.
