Yo guys. I recently updated my bios. Now when i come to re-install the windows xp home edition i cant. I have the operating system compressed in a hidden partition on my hard drive. The recovery cd checks the bios for a certain BIOS-LOCK string if its not the same as the one on CD then the process halts. Is there neway i can uncompress this partition and unhide it then copy it to a DVD-ROM, so i cud install it from there. Then i wudnt have to use the Recovery OEM CD to check the BIOS before proceeding. Thanks for all suggestions and help. :) :) :D

You should check your computer manufacturer for help on this. If the compressed hidden partition is meant to be secure then there is no way to unompress it without the proper BIOS-LOCK string.
