Recovery CD won't work. At all. Please help!

  1. My family and I are trying to use the recovery CD for the factory restore option because Windows ME is too far gone. The problem is, everytime we try to run it, as it's booting up, it goes blue screen and instructs to remove the diskette and turn off the computer.

My mother went to use the user backup option a couple days ago, but turned off the computer halfway through. I don't know if that affects it or what.

Also. We took it to some tech guys yesterday, they turned off every program we had running. So, my mother turned them back on. Except..she turned on every program we have instead of selecting the ones we were using. I doubt that makes a difference but..figured I'd mention it.

Please help! I'm not good with computer lingo so..if you could try to simplify it for me, that'd be splendid.

    Thanks in advance!

Make sure there is no floppy in the A: drive.
Re-boot with the CD in and see what happens.
