Recurring beep during NFS Carbon

Hi guys, I got a Sapphire X1950XT graphics card today, and while playing Need for Speed Carbon, I get a single beep, then a few seconds later, another beep etc. If I close the game, or alt tab to reduce the load on the gfx card it stops, until the card heats up again. Could this be due to overheating? or any other suggestions?

Thanks in advance
Ash

It is almost undoubtedly overheating.
If you have any software for monitoring the temperature of the graphics card and keep an eye on it!

Thanks for the quick reply. I downloaded ATItool and logged the temp while playing, and it got to 119.8 degrees c before rebooting so its definately overheating. Is there any way to cool it without buying a new vga cooler?

Thanks
Ash

oops, haha problem solved. Dont laugh, the card takes up 2 slots, 1 for the exhaust...and I removed the 2 higher blanking plates, leaving the next one covering the exhaust, so the air was getting trapped inside the cooler.

Thanks again
Ash
