Red Alert 2 has encountered an internal error

  1. Every time i play ra2 about 20-30mins into a game i get "Red Alert 2 has encountered an internal error" message and it brings me back to the desktop. I have tried a number of things such as:

Reinstalling the game a number of times
Updating with new patch and older patches
Ive tried it on my pc using XP HOME & PRO (both with same msg)
I disabled my sound but still the same
    Updated Graphics drivers
Quit all background tasks that was not being used
Tried the compatibility mode to win95/98/ME/2000
Tried it with a number of different maps
Tried lowering video settings within the game
    Tried lowering the video acceration
    Tried lowering the sound acceration

Ive also never had any mods/unofficial maps

I could get windows 98 and try that but will take a while and would like to know if this will fix the issue?

Need to know what is going wrong and what i can do to prevent it from giving me this ANNOYING error.

I play the game over a IPX network and this is where it has been happening most of the time but has also happened on single player at random times.

    System specs are as followed

    Windows XP PRO
    2GB DDR2 RAM
    250GB SATA HDD
    Dual Core Intel 3.6ghz
    Nvidia Geforce 7300GT 256mb

Have been searching google for about 3 days now with not much info found.

ironically, 10mins after i posted this we found a solution... we took a 1gb memory module out and to our amazement... it worked. So happy.
