    Hello,
I have HP-dv5t Laptop with windows vista home premium, and I don't like it too much...(By it I mean the Vista part)
I tried to run the XP Install disk, Ubuntu startup disk, and I keep getting an error message, probably "protecting" my computer from removing the Vista OS.

I was wondering, if anyone can help we and guide me through the process of removing Vista, and put on good (relatively) old, XP .
    Thanks,
    Shay

Pretty sure HP have an extensive guide in doing this
Also it is wise to confirm that your computer can support Xp (many cannot due to lack of drivers)

Please ask Hp first, go here and click on "chat" orange bar http://www.techspot.com/vb/topic100655.html

Also, if they do provide a "Remove Vista" guide, please post it in a new reply (because I couldn't find it)

By the way, in many cases they may just sell you a XP Recovery CD, which will do it all for you

    Good Luck :)

I am sure you can downgrade from free. Contact HP. M$ has authorized an extension for downgrading.
