  1. Hey there, I would like to replace the internal hard dive of my laptop which is easy enough to do, but would I need to buy a new version of Windows 7 to install or would I be able to use the External Recovery Media disc that came with the laptop when I brought it?

If the discs contain all you need to restore the OS you should be fine. If the discs require a recovery partition on the current laptop drive, you'll need to do some work to get that onto the new drive.
