    i am thinking of starting a pc repair business, my question is when i want to diagnose PC, what do i need as far software and hardware, i would be greatly appreciate for all and any help. thank you

    Where did you get the basic repair training? I have been working with computers for over 38 years. Modern computers have built-in utilities and there are 100's of free diagnostic programs. You just have to learn how to use and interpret the results

    When a mate calls me up to fix his computer, or fix someone else's computer...One piece of software i always carry with me is S.I.W (System Information for Windows).

    If thier using windows, it gives a nice big spec list of the entire system (both hardware and software). Good for knowing what's right in front of you.

    Obviously it can only be used if the system is bootable though :D
