The 3D remake of the 1993 hit film Jurassic Park recently hit theaters to commemorate the movie’s 20th anniversary but if you crave a fully interactive trip down prehistoric memory lane, look no further than Minecraft. That’s because a gamer by the name of Josh Collin recently spent four months to recreate the awe-inspiring world of Jurassic Park brick-by-brick in Mojang’s sandbox.

The work was done using the Xbox 360 version of Minecraft where virtually every major set in the film has been built to precision. Unfortunately there aren’t any animated dinosaurs in the clip below but there are some statue-like representations to help give the island a more life-like feel. Either way, it doesn’t take away from how awesome this virtual world really is.

Fans of the film will also appreciate the accompanying audio – John Williams’ score plays in the background as we are given the complete tour.

We’ve seen gamers come up with some really incredible creations in Minecraft like the world’s largest QR code spanning seven acres and even a fully functional CPU complete with RAM that’s capable of solving division problems.

The game has become a hit among other developers as some have included subtle nods to the title in their own games. For example, players can located a “Notched Pickaxe” in Skyrim which looks visually similar to the tool used to build the Minecraft world and at the same time, is a nod to Minecraft creator Markus “Notch” Persson. There’s even a special Minecraft area in Borderlands 2, we’re told.
