Running program at startup

  1. how can I get a program such as Realtemp to start with win7. Can this be added to the boot menu or what? I pinned it to the start menu but that didn't do anything. Is there a alternate program such as realtemp that will always start with windows?

    Put it into startup folder.

In Windows 7 the location of your personal startup folder is:

    %systemdrive%\users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

For all users, you will find the startup folder in:

    %systemdrive%\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

what exactly do I put in the startup folder, the whole folder or just the exe or what. I tried putting the whole program there but when I rebooted it tried to open everything including .dll's. I also tried a shortcut to the program but it didn't start. I want to thank you for your help.

again thanks. I found this thread on extremeoverclocking which did the trick, hope it's OK to post the link so it can help someone else as it could be used for almost any other APP "http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showpost.php?p=3970161&postcount=3657".

    Cool :)
For the future reference, you put .exe in startup folder.
