Safe Mode

I ran a few anti virus programs inside Safe Mode and every time I restart the computer to get out of safemode it says "Windows is saving information" for about 20 minutes then it restarts, what could be causing it and how could I fix it?

Try doing a system restore and see if that helps.

What programs did you run and what did they find?

I ran AVG Anti-virus / anti-spyware, they found nothing.


Also last time I did system restore it screwed my computer up so I'll not do it

In that case, try a Windows repair.

One thing to try first, from a dos box in safe mode type sfc /scannow,make sure your windows cd is in the drive.

or you can do a error-checking disk scan by right clicking C:/properties/tools. you'll probably have to restart to get it to work. see what happens.
