SATA Controller Card

  1. I had a question about these controller cards. I wish to purchase one of the newest burners and it is only available with a SATA interface now currently until I can afford a better one my computer doesn't have SATA on it.

Is it possible to use one of these cards to attach the burner to it or is it only for hard drives?

This may seem like an odd question but I ahve been out of the loop on the computing world for a bit.

Thanks in advance for any help

SATA is SATA... no difference between hard drives or optical drives, or any other SATA devices

Honestly that is what I figured but I would rather ask and be sure then not.

Besides it is better to ask a question then sit and wonder.

No proplem :) SATA stands for Serial ATA. The old standard IDE is now called Parallel ATA

Yeah despite not knowing a few things here and there I do know the meanings of the acronymns. My main computer which isn't working right now has a SATA raid controller on it, so I am somewhat familiar with SATA though never used and devices with that type of connection.
