hi to all.i bought a new assembled pc
mercury ,otherboard P4VM800M7 ,intel p4 2.8
the motherboard has two SATA connectors and two IDE .
i connected a 80GB SEAgate HD to one of the SATA port(SATA1).
this is the only hd i have and nothing installed on it.
BIOS is dedcting my SATA hard disk.
do i have make any chages in the bios settings?
i tried making some changes in the features page but all in vain.

when tried to boot using XP it said there is no harddisk detected.

You have to load the SATA drivers during boot up whern yo see the prompt "press F6 to load third party drivers." if you dont have a floppy with the drivers supplied then look on the motherboard disk there should be a program there for making the sata drivers floppy disk on it. or you can download them from the mobo makers site.
